Sean Mitchell thanks for your question. The current parking lot is expected to be adequate. Competitive swimming activities tend not to overlap with busy times at the lake. For instance practices are held in the morning prior to lake being open to the public, and meets are evenings usually 6pm-9pm. The plan is to observe this summer and take corrective action if necessary. There is plenty of room to expand parking on site if warranted.

Aleks Bunin I can only speak to the Wayne location. Regarding traffic, this is zoned regional retail, nothing is changing with respect to usage, aside from the fuel station. The location was occupied by Sears for years and now the tenant will be BJs. A busy mall is a successful mall 🙂

Jim Dennison it’s not uncommon. This year’s list has several streets that are only getting partial resurfacing. I’m not sure of the specifics regarding Beechwood but will look into it and see if I can get some explanation for you.

Anthony Falzo thank you for the kind words. I will continue to work for you and all Wayne residents on any and all issues that impact our pocketbooks, well being, and quality of life.

Jim Dennison I wanted to get back to you with some information:

The extensive length of Beechwood Drive (4,700 feet) is part of the reason for the partial nature of work that has been performed over the years.

The section you mentioned (between Magnolia and Cedar) was inspected by our engineering department in January 2020 and rated relatively low. It was a candidate to be resurfaced in 2021 but did not make the final cut. It will again be a candidate for next year’s resurfacing program. I will keep an eye on it personally and report back if and when I have any new information. Or feel free to reach out to me anytime you would an update.

Here is the full history:

1) Beechwood Drive entire length resurfaced in 1987

2) Section between Magnolia and Cedar resurfaced in 2006.

3) Section between Simmons and Evergreen resurfaced in 2016.

4) Section between Evergreen and Magnolia resurfaced in 2018.

5) Section between Ratzer and Simmons resurfaced in 2018.

John Galka I wanted to get back to you with some information. Garvey Road was last re-surfaced in 1998. It was inspected by our township engineering department in September 2020 and rated what I would consider moderately deteriorated. As it was not selected for this year’s re-surfacing program (due to other streets being deemed in worse condition) it will be re-inspected and included as a candidate for 2022 re-surfacing. I will let you know once that re-inspection happens and the result. In the meantime feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.

John Galka thanks it’s not an easy dilemma to solve with limited funds and 26 square miles of town but I think the process can definitely be improved. This harsh winter isn’t helping matters. Rest assured though we’ll be taking a close look

The township can can help by making sure planning and zoning are accommodative/conducive to business, work collaboratively with owners, make introductions, etc. Mayor Vergano’s administration is very focused on any and all situations where we can assist a landlord in filling vacancies
